About
The Launch Pad is the Adult Basic Education and Workforce Transitions department at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC). It helps adult learners build foundational academic skills, earn secondary credentials, and transition into workforce training or college programs. Core services include:

Adult Basic Education (ABE): Tailored instruction to improve reading, writing, and math skills for adults needing academic refreshers or career advancement.
MI-BEST Program: Integrates adult basic education with hands-on career-technical training (such as welding, industrial maintenance, or healthcare support), allowing students to earn workforce credentials while working toward their high school equivalency.
English as a Second Language (ESL): Language instruction for non-native English speakers focused on conversational skills, literacy, and community integration.
Workforce & College Readiness: Academic assessment prep (e.g., TABE testing), resume guidance, and transition pathways into EMCC's career-technical programs or direct employment.
