Turning It Around is a community-focused 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Columbus, Mississippi. Founded by Jacquel Brown and Candace Sims, the organization provides victim advocacy, youth empowerment, and emergency family relief across the Golden Triangle. Services include:
Victim Advocacy & Grief Support: Offers emotional support, guidance, and support groups for families and individuals who have lost loved ones to violent crime.
Youth Empowerment & Violence Prevention: Hosts youth outreach activities, mentoring, and anti-violence initiatives designed to steer young people toward positive choices.
Community Drives & Basic Needs: Distributes free school supplies and backpacks, hosts food giveaways, and provides emergency support to unhoused families or residents in need.
