About

The Youth Transition Support Services division within the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services is dedicated to providing transition planning, independent living resources, and educational funding for current and former foster youth moving into adulthood. To build self-sufficiency, the program pairs youth with Transition Navigators who guide life skills training, housing plans, and career preparation. They coordinate post-secondary education funding through the Education and Training Voucher program and the FAITH Scholarship to cover college or vocational costs. The division also promotes financial security through money management courses and dollar-for-dollar matched savings programs for major purchases like education, housing, or vehicles. Furthermore, they support youth development by providing milestone stipends and training young adults in leadership and legislative advocacy through statewide advisory boards.
